Energy is an exchange

On Sunday, in our monthly Breathe & Meditate session in Hawthorn, we explored energy exchange.

What we receive. What we release. What we hold onto. And where we choose to direct our energy.

Through breath, intention and body awareness, we explored what may be ready to move, what we’re ready to make space for, and what we want to call forward.

Energy is constantly being directed somewhere.

Into what we give our attention to.
What we hold onto.
What we create and nurture.
What we call forward.

Sometimes that energy flows freely. Sometimes we hold on a little tighter.

Becoming more aware of that exchange gives us an opportunity to notice where our energy is going and what may need to move.

What are we continuing to carry?
What are we ready to let go of?
What are we making space to receive?

Sometimes this means letting go of what was to make room for what is. Sometimes it means becoming more conscious of what we are choosing to give our time, attention and energy to.

The breath can become part of that exchange.

Inhale what you need.
Exhale what you don’t.

Receive.
Release.

There doesn’t need to be a big answer or an immediate change. The practice can simply begin with noticing.

Where does your energy feel free to move?
Where are you holding on?
What feels ready to shift?

Our session moved through gentle breathwork, intention and release before landing back into the body through a grounding light visualisation. A chance to receive, release and then reconnect with what was present.

It was a beautiful, spacious and grounded afternoon.

If you’d like to explore this reflection further, you might like to sit with with these journal prompts:

  • What am I ready to receive?

  • What am I ready to release?

  • What am I ready to make space for?

Our next Breathe & Meditate session is on Sunday 13 September at The 3rd Space in Hawthorn.
